Written by 2 poets taking turn with stanzas. It seems to be all over the place with no sense to it at times. But if you read the poems a second time, they make more sense now that you know where they are going.
Such random topics like eating from a dump that ends up his home, watching a hurricane, being apathetic or pathetic depending on your point of view, and a King Cake.
He is a House and Too Blue were pretty good. As Surely As was funny, it made me laugh out loud.
There are no real titles to the poems, the first line of each poem is the title.
My favorite line from the whole book has to be "God is way bigger than my ass. That's comforting to know."

Elaine misses the art of sending postcards to friends. She really misses receiving them. So she decides to write to herself.
Each postcard is so random and some of them make no sense. A guy on the corner in an orange suit, cars that drive to fast, doggy toothpaste.
It was ok, and a little funny. It took 1 hour to read. For the most part this book was thoughtless, yet strangely thought provoking at the same time.

I found the main characters very likable and honorable in their actions. Even the supposed villain in the story, Redclaw, wasn't such a bad guy. Once I understood his motivation and desperation behind his deeds, I felt a little sympathy for him. He didn't attack and kill out of bloodlust, but for a better life for his pups.
I plan on ready the rest of the series. I hope that Jerico and Darius find peace in their friendship. Even though they believe in different Gods, and are supposed to be mortal enemies.
This book took about 6 hours for me to read.

When Essie finds an elaborate Valentine's Day card from a secret admirer in her mailbox, she must solve the mystery of who sent it. While her and her best friends (Marjorie, Opal, and Faye) are investigating, they find 2 more mysteries to solve. Who could be a drug dealer at Happy Haven and why is Grace Bloom having food trays brought to her room?
The answers may surprise you.
I thoroughly enjoy these books. Essie and friends are so fun and lovable. Patricia Rockwell writes so well. And they are quick easy reads.
I found this book boring. At first, it is a look into the life of the Italian people. The lesson is slow down, take notice, eat well, and socialize for a better, longer life. These are things I will try to work into my daily life.
Halfway through the book, the author started to add her political views. This is where I quit reading. I do not care if you are a Trump supporter or not. A book on living a better life should not cross over into shaming half of Americans for their belief or who they choose to follow.
I will not recommend this book to anyone. It was not for me.
He is an ER doctor. One night a young woman comes in with a broken arm, then later is left on the ER doorstep dead. Doc, his cop friend, Tom and Tom's K9 dog named Banshee, decide to find out what happened to her. They get involved with some bad Ukranian thugs. Doc is chased and almost killed a few times.
As the story goes on, we learn that Doc isn't all that bad of a guy. Most of the characters in the book are funny and
I really enjoyed The Last Patient. It is book 1 of 5, I will most probably read the rest when I find time.
If you have read this book, please leave you opinion. I would love to know if you liked it and why or why not.
Each chapter is written by a different author. It reminds me of the old camp side story time when each person had 5 minutes to add to the tale. It constantly takes the story into a new direction and gives a new twist to each chapter. But never lost the main thread of the story or got confusing. It flowed together very well. There is no end to the suspects, accomplices, and possible victims.
I really enjoyed Wheel of Death. The story was good and unpredictable.
If you have read this book, please leave a comment. I would love to know your opinion of the book and why.
What we believe to be the death of Hitler and the Third Reich may all be a lie. Twilight of Evil is the story of Adolf Hitler and some of his inner circle after the fall of Berlin. Hitler escapes and lives life in Argentina, along with Eva Braun and their daughter Uschi.
I'm sorry to say that this book just didn't do it for me. I found this story to be boring. It seemed to talk about Hitler like he was a good person. He is a loving father and husband, shows people appreciation even giving out gifts, and cries over the death of his dog. Although he does get his comeuppence in the end.
Sometimes the conversations were confusing and hard to follow. There were no breaks to holp you discern who was speaking.
These are just a couple. Although I will say the author did tell us in his preface that this is his first English novel.
Once again, we visit with Essie, Opal, Marjorie, and Fay for mystery and adventure. The ladies make 3 new friends, Santos, Clara, and Hubert.
The mystery begins when Santos asked Essie to help with a baby whose mother is missing. Maria works at Happy Haven, has an abusive husband, and seems to have deserted baby Antonio. But Santos believes she would never do that. Essie and the girls take care of the baby and try to find Maria. Meanwhile, they cannot let anyone know that the baby is in the facility, especially Violet the facility director.
Essie's neighbor is nosey, Hubert is infatuated with Essie, and Santos is worried.
The ladies are fun and very entertaining to read about. Papoosed is entertaining and a good read, but it wasn't as good as the first. This one was too focused on the care of Antonio, so the mystery was pushed to the side.
Keep baby quiet, feed the baby, change the baby, baby sleeps, repeat, repeat, repeat. There is only so many times I can read about the process and needs of a baby. I raised 3 boys of my own and 5 grandchildren, I know what a baby needs and does.
The story only takes about 3 hours to read. It is very light and fun.

When Bob Weiderley collapses after winning a game of bingo, Essie and her 3 friends start to investigate. Essie, Marjorie, Opal, and Fay sneak around the complex searching for clues, interrogating staff and residents, and pointing out suspects. Could it be Violet (the facility director), Sue (the social director), Evelyn (one of Bob's friends and tablemates), Ben (a young man from outside who may be trying to scam Bob), or any one of the many residents and staff of Happy Haven.
Who tried to kill Bob and why? Will Essie and her friends find the culprit, and will they all survive the hunt?
I really enjoyed Bingoed. I think Ms. Rockwell has a great writing style. You don't have to think too hard to follow the story but you stay engaged. It's a short book. I read it in about 3 hours. I laughed out loud a time or two.
I recommend this book to anyone who just wants to relax and enjoy reading for an hour or two.
Jim, Erica and their mom, Genevieve are going on vacation in England. When Genevieve is kidnapped, the kids must find their estranged father, Edward, to save her.
The journey takes the 2 kids through England, Italy, and Switzerland. They are chased by 2 groups of people wanting to find Edward and a fortune in jewels that he has.
The story is full of adventure, intrigue and excitement. This is a tale for a teenager, but I still enjoyed it. The author makes it easy to guess who is behind the kidnapping. But also does a good job at confusing you for a moment or two.

What do these things mean, and how can they help or hinder you achieving your goals? This book will explain each to you. Through transurfing (which means allowing for the highest degree of freedom to choose which sector of reality we would like to realize) you can grasp you higher self and any goal you strive for.
Using external intention instead of internal intention you can reach your goals. Instead of wishing/desiring an object or lifestyle, believe or act as though it is already yours. Then the universe will be more open to helping you achieve it.
I read through the book somewhat quickly, so I may not have grasped the entire meaning and methodology behind the words. This is the kind of book that you need to keep available and read more than once to follow the methods and practices that are suggested. I will try some of the methods, like being more positive about my goals reaching fulfillment. It will take some practice to retrain your brain But in the end, hopefully, it will be worth it.
Det. Brian Boise is on the hunt for a killer. His number one clue is a smudge of gray found at each crime scene. Trevor Malloy is a perfect father and husband. But he has a secret life outside the house.
The 1st half of the story was slow and bored me. But once the 2 main characters interact, it picks up the pace. Then comes to an unexpected end.
Mr. Sturak is a great storyteller. The characters come to life and you begin to feel for them. Brian with his family problems and need to succeed. Trevor with his evil nature. When the final fight comes, you are totally ready for it yet unprepared at the same time.
Lorelei is a high school senior, who thinks very little of herself. She smokes weed, drinks alcohol, and has sex with any guy who wants her. Her home life is not good, and she searches for attention and what she considers "love" wherever she can get it.
At the beginning of the story, Lorelei is not a very likable character. But as the story goes on and you learn more about her, you begin to sympathize with her. By the end of the book, you actually like her.
Lorelei suddenly starts having seizures and visions of a little girl. With these visions come a mystery of who is this child and who was killed. Lorelei learns a few secrets about herself and her family that she has suppressed. The end was a great twist. The main character development and the story progression is done nicely.
This is the second book by Mr. Purfield that I have read. I will read more since I really like his style.
This book has a great message for teens. Don't ever feel unworthy or down on yourself. You have to care about yourself, even when you feel that nobody else does.
I was given this book for an honest review by LibraryThing.
An enjoyable story for teens. I thought it was going to be a horror novel, but turned around into something different.
Jennie and Stacy are out in the woods, when they see a creature. After initially being scared, Jennie feels an unexplained connection with the creature. The girls decide to help the Mantis like creature.

I enjoyed the story. It held my interest and was well written. The main characters are likable, and I found myself rooting for them with every new obstacle. I always love a good retaliation story. Justified vengeance works for me. I just find Naomi a little too strong and invincible. You don't really fear for her too much, because it seems that nothing on earth can hurt her.
Nate, Hershel, Diane, Zeke and Tiffany need a little more participation in the story. I will be reading book 3 next. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
My copy had a good many typos and errors.
Such as: page 78 (which one is the right date)
On the night of Wednesday, December fourteenth, the Geminid meteor shower begins. I view them through a small opening in the forest canopy.
The next day, Thursday, December fourteenth, begins like the previous three.
Or chapter 15 (Which is the proper spelling)
Rebecca talks about her life. Ms. Berniece, then Ms. Bernice.
These are only two examples. Most don't matter too much (like the spelling of a name), but others make a big difference.

There were some rough spots in the book. Rape, murder, and mutilation are described in very clear detail. I could visualize the event, and had to put the book down for a short while. My only issue with the story is when the golem begins to appear. The story was "real" until then. These are things that are really happening in the world, even if we don't want to admit it. But the mythic creature took away from the tale for me.
I am still going to read the other 2 books to the series. I recommend this book to anyone who has a strong constitution, and can handle the couple of rough patches throughout the book.
If you have read this book, please leave a comment with your opinion. I would love to hear it and why you feel the way you do.
I didn't find any of the stories to be scary, and all are too short. All of the stories are only 1 to 4 pages long. I understand that they are only suppose to be quick "flash stories", but I still needed a touch more.
Story #7 Payday Assistance was probably the best. It almost had me. But I didn't like the ending.
As far as the historical events, I could have done without the history lessons. I just wanted to read a few good, quick stories.
I would possibly recommend this book to anybody who only has 2 or 3 minutes at a time, and just wants something to quick to read.
If you have read this book, please leave a comment to tell me what you thought.
Allison Newberry, a young detective sent to this strange, forbidding city to solve a murder.
During her investigation, Allison finds a lot more going on in this city than just murder. The clues left by the murderer lead her through some of the town's most lecherous areas. And help her uncover a bizarre group of religious zealots.
The plot, characters, and storyline were sensational. There were some grammar errors (possible typos) that need fixed. But all-in-all I enjoyed "Murder at the End of the World" and would recommend to anyone looking for a good murder mystery.
Hello,
How's is everyone's New Year going? Hope 2025 is treating you well so far.
For anyone new here, my name is Pam Kaye. I am reviewing mostly books for you. I want to do music, art, tv, movies and other things also.
A lot of my books come from a website called LibraryThing.com. Authors post their books free for you to read. They only ask for a review on Amazon and Goodreads. You should check it out. I have found some really good books here. And have also started following some authors that I have never heard of. Goodreads.com also has some free giveaways, if you want to check them out.
I have plenty of stories to read and review. Yes, I still will be reading some more famous authors and their books. Such as James Patterson, Louis A'mour, and Danielle Steele, just to name a few. Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Joanna Lindsey, Janet Evanovich, and Anne Rice are my top 5 favorite authors, so I will be reviewing more from them too.
For now, I have about 30 books from LibraryThing awaiting my attention. So that is what I will being doing for the next month or two.
If you have read any of the books that I review, please leave a comment. I would like to know if you agree with me or not. No judgement or arguments, everyone is intitled to an opinion. There are so many genres of books because there are so many different types of people. Sometimes someone can have an opinion that differs from mine, and if stated why it can make me rethink my own views.
So read, respect, and enjoy.
I enjoyed the story, but was a little let down by the romance part of it. Kathryn falls in love with John's kind eyes, and John falls in love because she is not his real wife, Nadine. Is this right or am I missing something?
Okay, so the premise of the story is Kathryn goes back in time, into another woman's body, Nadine Elsingham. She must try to convince the man who is now her husband that she is not crazy, and he shouldn't send her away. All the while she is trying to escape Donner, who may be a witch and had Nadine under some spell.
The story was a fun read as far as the adventure and all the events that Kathryn had to go through. The characters were likable (except for Donner and Adrian, of course). You felt pity for John. But I wanted more time between the two main characters. He was only in her presence 4 or 5 times. And John, thinking she was Nadine, was mean and rude. So where and when did they fall in love?
There were also a few errors in word usage throughout the book. Example: "At least you are remarkably consistent. Those are the dates you quoted me last night. There is no coherence in your story...."
Doesn't coherence mean consistency? To have no coherence would mean that she didn't stick to her story.
Overall, if you can overlook some errors and the fact that the romance is not really a romance then you will enjoy this book. It is a fun read and exciting. The action is almost non-stop.
We are invited into their lives during this time. Vicky and Joe go through many trials, tribulation, joys, and hilarious moments. The neighbors, their chickens, the renovating of the house they bought, along with natural occurring issues.
Vicky has made me want to try a life in a small Spanish village. Although it may be hard without all of modern day luxuries, it seems very peaceful.
I really enjoyed the story, characters, and animal tales in this book. Everyone should like this tale.
