Doctor AJ Docker, Doc for short, is an wisecracking, egotistical, womanizing ass. At least that is your first impression of him as the book begins.
He is an ER doctor. One night a young woman comes in with a broken arm, then later is left on the ER doorstep dead. Doc, his cop friend, Tom and Tom's K9 dog named Banshee, decide to find out what happened to her. They get involved with some bad Ukranian thugs. Doc is chased and almost killed a few times.
As the story goes on, we learn that Doc isn't all that bad of a guy. Most of the characters in the book are funny and
I really enjoyed The Last Patient. It is book 1 of 5, I will most probably read the rest when I find time.
